Mrs. Rebecca Colbert to Otha Colbert
This Indenture, made the eleventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety three between Mrs. Rebecca Colbert of West Taylor Township, Cambria County & State of Penna of the first part and Otha Colbert of the same place of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred (500$) Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, unto her well and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents, does grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey, and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever, all that certain piece, parcel & messuage of land, situate on a Public road leading from Coopersdale to Tanneryville and what would be the extension of the main street of said town of Coopersdale if extended. Thence, in a straight line and in northerly direction one hundred & eighty eight (188 ft.) feet to land of N.B. Griffith, thence along said land of said Griffith in a westerly direction, one hundred (100 ft.) feet to a post, thence, in a southerly direction, two hundred and six (206 ft.) feet to a firit* of the said Public road, thence along said Public road, in a straight line, one hundred (100 ft.) feet to the place of beginning.
The same being part of a larger piece of land, the title to which became vested in Robt. S. Colbert by Deed of James Cooper dated Aug 4 A.D. 1866 and recorded in Deed book vol. 25, Pg. 158 &c in the office for recording of deeds in & for Cambria County and the same which the heirs of the said Robt. S. Colbert sold & conveyed to Mrs. Rebecca Colbert, the present grantor, by their deed dated the 2nd day of June A.D. 1891, which deed is also duly recorded in said office in Deed book vol. 90 Pg. 308 and the same which is embraced in a Quit Claim deed from the heirs of said Robt. S. Colbert to the said Mrs. Rebecca Colbert, the present grantor which said Quit Claim deed is dated the 20th day of April A.D. 1893 & is also recorded in the said office in Cambria Co. in Deed book vol. 92, Page 1 as by reference to said deeds being had will more fully & at large appear.
Together with all and singular the improvements, ways, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the reversions, and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof; and all the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim, and demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part, in law, equity, or otherwise, howsoever, of, in, and to the same and every part thereof, to have and to hold the said described piece of ground with the improvements, hereditaments and premises hereby granted, or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever.
And Mrs. Rebecca Colbert, the said party of the first part, her heirs, executors, and administrators, do by these presents, covenant, grant, and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that she the said party of the first part, her heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises hereinabove described and granted, or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against the said party of the first part, and her heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, shall and will warrant and forever defend

Mrs. Rebecca Colbert
Rebecca, relict of Robert Colbert, died at her home in West Taylor Township, at 12:20 o'clock this morning, in her eighty-fourth year.
Mrs. Colbert was born in Hagerstown, Md., December 16, 1810, and was united in marriage in 1828 to Mr. Colbert, who died April 8, 1887.
She was the mother of thirteen children, five of whom are dead. The living are: Mary Jane, wife of John Herdman, of the Thirteenth Ward; John E., of the Sixth Ward; Matilda, who lives at home; William M., of Coopersdale; Katie, wife of Samuel Burn[s], of Roaring Spring, Blair County; Helen, wife of William Wonderly, of the Seventh Ward; Ellen, wife of John Vahn, of Coopersdale; and Otho, who lives at home. She is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. Rev. Latshaw McGuire, of the Coopersdale Methodist Episcopal Church, of whom the deceased had been a member for many years, will conduct the obsequies, after which interment will be made in Benshoff's Cemetery. ___________________________________
