    On May 6, 2007 slides and history of the Salem Missionary C hurch, first known as Mennonite Brethren in Christ in Sprin g Bay on Manitoulin , were shown by Bruce Galbraith and Joh n Buie. They were were prepared by Mr. Herb Galbraith, gra ndson of William Shroeder, and John Buie , great grandson o f Benjamin Bock, who first invited Mr. Shroeder to visit Ma nitoulin in 1882.

    So it was with the development of what we know now as "Th e Missionary Church", on Manitoulin Island until approximat ely 1887, and from then on, the church grew to what it is t o-day.
