Chester F. Spry On Friday morning, March 21st, there passed away at his hom e in Mindemoya, Chester Spry, son of Mrs. Spry and the lat e Lewis Spry. He was born at Rockville, 37 years ago and at the age of 1 0 years moved with his parents to Mindemoya, where he resid ed until his death. He celebrated his 37th birthday just tw o days before. He received most of his education at the public school at M indemoya. A few years ago he took a special course at the a gricultural college at Guelph. At the age of 17 he entered the employ of A.J. Wagg at crea mery work and remained with that firm until his death. A ma n of sterling character, he was highly esteemed by everybod y but more especially by those who know him best. In 1939 he was married to Evelyn Wagg, daughter of Mr. an d Mrs. John Wagg. Surviving besides his mother and his wife are three childre n, Freddie, aged 7, Marilyn 5, and Thomas 3. Also five brot hers: Lewis Big Lake; Ernie of Whitefish Falls; Lloyd of Wi llisville; Leonard and Ulric of Mindemoya; Three sisters, M rs. A. Gregor, (Rae), Sudbury; Mrs. Robert Beange, (Ethel ) Gore Bay; and Mrs. M. Clarke, (Lily), of Kapuskasing. Dec eased was a member of the United Church and the funeral wa s conducted by Rev. Roy Irwin, assisted by Rev. C. Noble, A nglican minister and Mrs. W.H. Vincer. Rev. and Mrs. D. Sar gent, Spring Bay, sang a duet, "Someone will enter the Pear ly Gates". Interment was in Cold Spring Cemetery. The many floral tributes attested to the esteem in which h e was held and the many friend which he had. The funeral wa s a very large one. The following six of his fellow employe es acted as pallbearers: H. Lochead, Duffern Brown, Floyd S mith, Watson Smeltzer, Roy Chisholm and Donald Caddel.
