    After a short illness, Mrs. Wm. Rowe passed away at her lat e residence in Howland. The deceased whose maiden name wa s Harriet Ockley (Oakley) was born in Northumberland County , Ont., in the year 1838 and was united to her late husban d in 1855. The family removed to the Manitoulin in 1869 an d have continued to reside here since. She was a life-lon g Methodist and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Runnall s of Barrie Island and Mrs. Thos. Anderson of Little Curren t, and three sons, Timothy of Perivale, Thomas and Nelson o f Howland. The funeral services were conducted on Monday af ternoon by Revs. J. W. Arnott and C. Simpson interment bein g in Holy Trinity Cemetery in the family plot. The family h ave the sympathy of many friends in their second bereavemen t within a short periods.
