The Recorder, Gore Bay, January 15, 1931 Mrs. Wm. McAlister Deep sorrow was brought to another home in Mindemoya neighb orhood on Dec. 16th, 1930, when death called away Mrs. Wm . McAlister, (nee Ellen Ferguson,) at the early age of fort y-two years, from her sorrowing husband and family of seve n children of whom the youngest is six years of age. Mrs. McAlister was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. an d Mrs. Chas. Ferguson of Mindemoya, Ont. She was born on the Ferguson homestead, April 19th, 1888, a nd was married to Mr. Wm. McAlister nearly twenty years ago. Over four months ago she had an attack of inflammatory rheu matism which confined her to her bed; and later cancer, tha t great enemy of the human race, progressed and developed u ntil the end came. During these months of illness she had b een a great sufferer, and bore her burden with Christian re signation, a kind thoughtful and loving wife and mother wil l be much missed in a family of tender years; and the since re sympathy of all goes out to husband and children in thei r severe trial. The eldest daughter, will be able in a measure to take he r mother's place and conduct the duties of the home. The ch ildren are:-Kathleen, Norah, Robert, Peter, Audron, Orval a nd Odetta. Besides these Mrs. McAlister is survived by four brothers a nd four sisters. Mrs. David Williamson, (Jessie) Daniel Fer guson; Mary; Robert; William; Mrs. Robt. Marshall, (Aggie) ; Albert and Mrs. Thos. Breathat (Isabel.) The funeral service was conducted by Rev. L. E. Atkinson o f Mindemoya, assisted by Rev. Wm. Munro. Williamson of Mindemoya, Ont. Death coming to a home at any time is a message of sorrow , indeed, but when a mother is taken from a husband wit h a large family, human sympathy is exercised in a more mar ked degree, under such circumstances; but the Ruler of th e Universe does all things in Divine wisdom; and it is our s to save with the divine sufferer, "Not my will, but thine , be done!"
The Recorder, Gore Bay, January 22, 1931 Card of Thanks William McAllister and family wish to thank their many frie nds and relatives, for kindness and help given them durin g their very sad bereavement, and also for the beautiful fl oral tributes.
