JOHN ANDERSON
The community was shocked on Saturday morning of last wee k to learn of the sudden death of Mr. John Anderson. Whil e he had not been in good health for some years, he becam e real bad on Friday evening with a heart attack and passe d away about 10 o'clock. Mr. Anderson came to the Island a s a small boy and has told many interesting pioneer experie nces of those early days.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of his son, Jam es, on Sunday afternoon by Rev. G.W. Johnson, assisted by M r. A. Steer, student pastor of the Baptist church here. Th e splendid christian character of Mr. Anderson and the hig h esteem in which he was held by his many friends was readi ly seen by the tremendous crowd which turned out to the fun eral.
