    "Bertha Helen Walker, daughter of Ida M. Nichols Jolliff and the late William Randle Jolliff, was born August 10, 1910 at West Plains, Missouri. She entered into eternal rest August 15, 1991 at the age of eighty-one years.
    She received her education in the schools of Thomasville, Missouri and graduated from the Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri. On January 5, 1938, she was married at Baxter Springs, Kansas to J. Robert Walker.
    Mrs. Walker was an elementary school teacher with one of her first teaching jobs being at the Sailer School in Oregon County, Missouri. Before her retirement, Mrs. Walker had taught school in the states of Oklahoma, Iowa, Michigan, and West Lafayette, Indiana.
    Mrs. Walker was a member of Chapter Ch P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Purdue Women's Club and the Order of Eastern Star, all of West Lafayette, Indiana.
    She is survived by her husband, J. Robert Walker, Emeritus Professor of Communications, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana; three children, Mrs. Lynn E. (Patricia) Sorensen, West Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. George B. (Kathryn) Kona, Portland, Oregon, and J. Robert Walker II, Perrysburg, Ohio; four grandchildren; her mother, Ida Jolliff, Westzville, Missouri; five sisters, including her identical twin sister, Berta Frazier, Crossville, Illinois, Vesta Thompson, West Plains, Missouri, Clyda Henbest, Columbus, Kansas, Marilyn Hood, Urbana, Illinois, and Barbara Barham, Champaign, Illinois; two brothers Lloyd Jolliff, Pascagoula, Mississippi and Wayne Jolliff, Wentzville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her father.
    She was a Christian with her membership in the First Church of Christ Scientist, West Lafayette, Indiana. Mrs. Walker was very active in her church working in the Sunday School, serving on the Board of Trustees, chairing many committees, and was the head librarian for the Church Library."
