Mrs. Cecelia Meyers Called To Eternal Home
The death of Mrs. Cecelia Wolfe Meyers Wednesday afternoon, Feb9th, was briefly reported by the Times last week. Her illnessdated back almost to the time she came here, four years prior toher death, finding love and the tenderest care with her parents,Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Wolfe, and her brothers and sisters after hewho had sworn to love and protect her had basely forsaken her.Cecelia Wolfe was born in Eden township, this county, May 9th,1875, being therefore 34 years and 9 months old at the time ofher death. She grew up on the farm, attended the public andlater the parochial school at Templeton and in every waydeveloped into a model of virtuous, decorous, attractiveChristian womanhood, the pride of her parents and the friend ofall who knew her. August, 1899 she was married to J. H. Meyersat Templeton, Iowa, and made their home there for a time, latercoming to this city and then removing to Spokane, Wash, wherethey resided fro some years. A little girl, Rita, came to cheerthe mother's heart and a little son, briefly sehd sunshine intoher life, dying in early infancy. Later the family removed toForest Hill, then San Jose, Calif., from which latter place theceparted came to her parental home here. Those who beheld thefrail etherial form of her who had seen so much suffering andknown so little joy, were fervently conscious that she wasindeed a flower transplanted from a cold, hard, cruel world to abeautiful land, known to mortal ken but through the eyes offaith. Those from a distance who attended were: Ed Wolfe,Chicago and John Wolfe, Omaha, brothers of the departed; AgnesWolfe, Audubon, Iowa; Mrs. Joseph Leonard and daughter,Bernadette, Audubon, Iowa; Richard Wolfe, Dewitt, Iowa; Josephand John James, Stuart, Iowa; Lawrence Finnerty, Manning, Iowa.A brother, Maurice Wofe, residing in California could not gethere. There survived departed, besides her liattle daughter, herparents and brothers Maurice, Ed and John Wolfe aforesaid, herborhters, J.C. and Thos A. Wolfe and her sisters the Misses Annaand Florence Wolfe of this city.
