    MYRTLE BEACH | Mr. Arthur Joseph ''Art'' Geddings, 82, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at his residence.

    Mr. Geddings was born in Sumter, South Carolina, the son of Huggins and Margie Geddings. He retired from the furniture industry, specializing in interiors and upholstery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, a 50 year Master Mason, a member of Myrtle Beach Masonic Lodge No. 353, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, and past president of the MLC Shrine Club of Myrtle Beach.

    Mr. Geddings was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa M. ''Rose'' Geddings; his son, Arthur Joseph ''Pepper'' Geddings Jr.; sisters, Mary Floyd and Betty Ann Palanco; and brother, Albert Barfield.

    Mr. Geddings is survived by his daughters, Sherry G. Owens and her husband, Pat, of Myrtle Beach, Linda Vereen and her husband, Carl, of Andrews, and Janice G. Allen of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Patrick Jr., Brent, Carl Jr., Charlene, and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Claire, Kyriea, Glen Jr., Brandon, and Jeremy; sisters, Dot Barkley, Florie Bradshaw, Lou Ella Ethridge, and Peggy Turner; brothers, Frank Charles Geddings and John H. Geddings; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2008 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery in Myrtle Beach, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
