VARYING NAMES: Lurana is listed multiple ways. In the 1850 Census it appeared to be "Susanna" or "Lurana". On several deeds it appears to be "Lorena". In the family history recorded by grandson Isaac, her name is reported as "Lurana". "Lurana" Harr is also recorded in the Scranage Cemetery records, dated 8/25/1929. On her son, John Marion Harr's death cerfificate, it said: "Father: Richard Harr; Mother: Loraine Carpenter Harr, both born in Fairmont." Several times her name was also given as "Lorenna", "Lourenna" or "Lorenna", as in the "Carpenters of the South" above. See C-3, page 3. ANOTHER CONFLICT: It would appear that Lurana was born in 1811 or 1812 according to the 1850 and 1860 Census records, and more likely 1811 if she was to have turned 49 in December of 1860. NOTE: Her birthdate is calculated from her death records.
