TRF Times Obituary: ?Stanley W. Stene, 49, a former resident of Thief River Falls died Wednesday, June 26 in Anoka where he had resided for about 20 years. Funeral services for Stenley Stene were held Friday at 2:00pm at the Thurston-Lindberg chapel at Anoka. Rev. John folkerds officiated. Interment was in the Forest Hill cemetery in Anoka. Pallbearers were Arlo Lian, Ben Prince, Archie Lian, Arnold Gunderson, Ralph Kriel and Theodore Knutson.
Stanley Stene, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Stene, was born May 20, 1925 at Thief River Falls. He attended school in Thief River Falls and was married here to Mary Hemmestvedt. They made their home in Anoka where Stene was employed by the Federal Cartridge plant.
Surviving are his wife, one son: Harvey Hemmestvedt of this city; a daughter: Mrs. Lawrence (Janet) Cardinal of Anoka; five grandchildren, one brother, Melvin Stene of Thief River Falls; and five sisters: Mrs. Minnie Krause, Mrs. Arnold (Anna) Gunderson, both of Thief River Falls, Mrs. James (Bertha) Hutcheson of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Ben (Thelma) Prince of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Arlo (Theresa) Lian of Anoka. He was preceded in death by his parens and three brothers.?
