TRF Times Obituary: Funeral services were held today (Monday) at 10:00am at Zion Lutheran Church for Minnie T. Krause, age 72, of Thief River Falls, who died Wednesday morning at Northwestern hospital. Rev. Richard Larson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jerry Joringdal, organist, and Bonnie Ness and Nancy Fellman who sang two duets. Pallbearers were Mike LaSalle, LeRoy Bugge, Curtis W. Johnson, Dale Wennberg, Lynn Daniels and Tom Goddard. Interment will be Tuesday in the National Cemetery at Ft. Snelling. The Belmont Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Krause, the former Minnie T. Stene, was born in Thief River Falls November 10, 1912, the daughter of Tobias and Marie (Valsvik) Stene. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Pauli Lutheran church and grew up in the Thief River Falls area. On May 30, 1939 she was united in marriage to Charles Krause in St. Hilaire. She worked for many years for hte Fahsion Shop (Mr. Duane?s), retiring in 1982.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran church, served as an officer of the Zion Lutheran church women, church circles and Leisure Fellowship. She served as a deaconess at Zion Lutheran crhuch, a Sunday School special education teacher, and was presently a member of the Zion Lutheran foundation board. She was active in the Rocksbury Homemakers, the Eagles Auxiliary, and the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hutchinson [sic] of Tacoma, WA; Mrs .Thelma Prince, Chicago, IL; and Mrs. Theresa Lian of Anoka. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Krause, who died November 16, 1970, her parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.?
