    Obituary in Thief River Falls Times: Delores "Dodie" Torkelson, 68, died on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at her home in rural Thief River Falls.

    Funeral services will be held on Torkelson, Delores Thursday, February 6 at St. Pauli Lutheran Church in rural Thief River Falls with Rev. Terri Cuppett officiating. Marisa Benson will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Dennis McCullough, Oliver "Skip" Swanson, Verdeen Grove, Herb Swenson, Loren Klopp and Arlo Rude. Honorary casketbearers will be Sarah Circle, Hazelnut Homemakers, and Class of '52 Lunch Group. Interment will be in St. Pauli Cemetery in Rocksbury Township. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5 (today) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

    Delores "Dodie" Helen Hagen was born on August 26, 1934, the daughter of Adolph and Harda (Anderson) Hagen in Thief River Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952.

    On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Wallace Torkelson. She later served as the first female treasurer of the City of St. Hilaire. She also held several office in both Calvary and St. Pauli Lutheran Churches. She was active in the WELCA and Hazelnut Homemakers. Since she was locally known as an excellent cook, she spearheaded the St. Pauli Centennial Cookbook. Dodie loved playing cards, solving crossword puzzles and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

    Survivors include her husband, Wally; children, Troy of Las Vegas, Nev., Jodie of Arlington, Va., Shelley (Bruce) Mathson of Thief River Falls, Dana (Keith) Connett of Minneapolis, and Kari of Grand Forks, N.D.; three grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth (Philip) Mitchell and Adeline (Richard) Bishop of Sun City West, Ariz.; and a brother, Raymond Hagen of Manchester, N.H.

    Delores was preceded in death by her parents.
