Obituary in Thief River Falls, 22 Sep 1976: Funeral services for Albert Hestekind, 65, of Thief River Falls and formerly of the McIntosh community were held at 2:00pm on Tuesday at the St. Pauli lutheran church. Albert Hestekind died on September 15 at the valley Home nursing home in Thief River Falls.
Rev. James Swanson officiated at the services. Soloist was Mrs. Clayton (Ines) Mathson, accompanied by Mrs. James (Carolyn) Swanson, organist. Interment was in the church cemetery, with the Green Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were: Mark Pederson, Waldo Thompson, Henry Thompson, Gerald Hestekind, Randy Homme, and Howard Dalager.
Albert Olaf Hestekind was born on August 24, 1911 at Hazel to Andrew and Nellie Hestekind. He attended school there and graduated form high school at St. Hilaire. Following graduation, he spent five years in the sanitarium at Thief River Falls.
He began working for the ASCS office at Warren in 1938. He later transferred to the ASCS office at McIntosh, where he continued to work as program assistant until his retirement in 1973.
He is survived by one brother, George Hestekind, and one half-brother, Ludvik (Louis) Pederson, both of Newfolden; three half-sisters: Mrs. Ted (Bella) Thompson, Thief River Falls;? Mrs. Gladys Homme, Erskine; and Mrs. Rubert Sunsdahl; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
