  • Note: 1) Extract of the register of baptisms, marriages, and burials of the parish of St.-Roch de Quebec for the year 1857: "16 February 1857 seeing the dispensation of two bans of marriage granted by Monsignor Charles Francois Baillargeon, bishop of Thoa, in the 14th day of the present month and the publication of one other ban made at the sermon of our parish Mass, between Pierre Morissette, carpenter, major son of the late Nicolas Morissette and the late Angelique Isabelle, of this parish; and Marie Sophie Morand, major daughter of Andre Morand and of Madeleine Levesque dit Lafrance, also of this parish of the other part; not having discovered any obstacle, we the undersigned priest, pastor of Saint-Roch of Quebec, having received the mutual consent of marriage and giving them the nuptial blessing in the presence of Andre Menard and of Napoleon Menard, son, and of John Baptist Martineau, who did not know how to sign any more than the husband.
