The Kittson County Enterprise, Hallock, Kittson, Minnesota Wednesday, September 5, 1934, Page 3: In Memoriam Died, at the Drayton hospital, Monday, September 3rd, 1934, Tomander Swan Thompson at the age of seventy-three years, seven months, and eleven days. Thomander Swan Thompson was born January 23, 1861 in the Province of Blekinge, Sweden. He came to Goodhue County from Sweden in about 1881. A year later he came to Kittson County and located on a homestead in Red River Township. On his farm he resided up to the time of his death. He was married in 1889. He is survived by seven children: Alvin and Carl Thompson, Mrs. Clifford Larson and Mrs. Robert Gilchrist; Mrs. Charles Skog, Mrs. William Hoffman and Mrs. Erick Erickson of Minneapolis. Also nine grandchildren. The funeral services will be held from the Red River church this Thursday afternoon, Sept. 6th. Interment will be at the Red River cemetery. A large company of relatives and friends were present to pay their last respects. Rev. W.E. Erickson officiated. -------------------------------------------------- The Kennedy Star, Kennedy, Kittson, Minnesota **7th September 1934: Mr. T. S. Thompson, a farmer in the Red River community for nearly half a century, passed peacefully away Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bob Gilchrist of Drayton. Mr. Thompson's passing came after an illness of but a few days duration. Funeral services were held from the Red River Lutheran church Thursday afternoon and the deceased was laid to rest beside his brothers. The Red River community wishes to express its sincere sympathy to all members of the grief stricken family.

**September 7, 1934 Pioneer Of Red River Township Passed Away on Monday, Sep. 3 Funeral of T.S. Thompson Held from Lutheran Church Thursday Afternoon Thomander Swan Thompson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. A. Gilchrist in the city of Drayton, Monday Sept. 3, 1934, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 11 days. The deceased was born Jan. 21, 1861 in Bltkinge, Sweden, came to this country and settled in Red River Township in 1881. He was married to Anna BROWN in 1889. To this union ten children were born, three having preceded him in death; leaving to mourn his departure seven children and nine grandchildren. The funeral services and last sad rites were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Whiting funeral parlors and at 2:00 o'clock from the Red River Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Erickson, of Hallock officiating.
