This information was copied from a photo-copied, linen/canv as, handmade book that belonged to Josiah Daniel (1745-1811 ). Since this is copied from an old book the writing is no t clear. I'm trying to copy the information to the best o f my ability leaving the spelling the way I find it. My not es are in parenthesis.

Elizabeth was Born the 19 October 1746 (I'm not positive o f the year but 1746 was used to figure the age in 1830).

Elizabeth Daniel was Born the 1 day of december 1785
Robin Daniel was Born the 23 of december 1787 and dyed th e 23 of May 1788
Waulten Daniel was Born the 7 of January 1789
Samuel Daniel was born Desember the 26 1790

Page 5 looks like sentences were written and then struck ov er.
It is not legible but some dates are readable.

Pages 6, 7 and 8 are repeats of all the children with thei r birthdates. Sometimes I had to look at both lists becaus e of smears.
Page 8 also has: M Tomas Murrer dyed the 31 day of July 1799

Page 9 has a list of items with money in English. I will tr y to copy some of it.

(These last two entries in different and neater handwriting ).

Page 10 has accounts against someone. Most are illegible.
At the bottom: Chesley Daniel Serv of Granville County, N C Departed this life 23 of June 1812
James Daniel of Granville County Departed this life 11th o f October 1814 (This can't be James Key)

Page 11 gives a repeat of Josiah, Sr's. death and Chisley D aniel, Juw who died 23 day of June 1812

Josiah Daniel Juw. Departed this life Saturady 18th day o f May 1816

Martin Daniel dyed 6th of June 1828 (different writing, may be he was the one with the neat writing. Looks like Samue l wrote this).

Page 11 has accounts and date of Samuel's birth written b y him.

Page 12 looks like fragments of the book copied. These ar e probably Samuel's children.

The original of this book is in the possession of Dr. Thoma s Manning Daniel of Smithfield, NC, who was kind enough t o share it with me. He treasures his book and the copy he s ent me is a treasure to me. I hope other descendants will f eel the same. The book is over 200 years old. It answered q uestions for me. I hope it does for others.
