    3 Jan 1798. John Hawks to Peter Weaver for 5, 100A of a 390A [sic] tract granted to John Hawks on 22 Nov 1797 by Charles Pinckney. Wit. Nathaniel Reed and Colin Campbell. Nathaniel Reed,(Oath: 3 Feb 1798). Rec. 8 Mar 1802 by William Reed JP. Pendleton Dist (Anderson Co.) SC Deed Book G, p10 (LDS film 22839):

    The State of South Carolina and Pendleton County. Know all men by these presents that John Hawk of the County of Pendleton and State aforesaid, planter, on consideration of the sum of five pound sterling to me paid by Peter Weaver of the county and State aforesaid, planter, have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said Peter Weaver all that plantation or tract of Land Containing One Hundred Acres more or less situate on a Branch of the Oolenoye Creek Waters of Saluda River beginning at a line Running thence N49W 46Chs to a stake thence N30E 9 Chs to a Chestnut thence N34W to a conditional post Oak Corner thence along a conditional line to another Post Oak Corner from thence by a conditional line to the beginning Corner ... it being a part of a tract of Land Granted to John Hawks by his Excellency Charles Pinckney Governor by letter ... of the State aforesaid the 22nd November 1797 Containing three hundred and ninety acres Together with all and Singular the Rights members heriditaments and appurtinances to the said premises belonging or in any ... in appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Peter Weaver his heirs and assigns for Ever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to covenant and Defend all and Singular the said premises be the same more or less unto the said Peter Weaver his heirs and assigns Against myself my heirs and assigns by no further Lawfully Claiming as to Claim the same or any part or parcel thereof Witness my hand and seal this 3rd Day of January Anno domini 1798 {John Hawks [seal]}

This day Nathaniel Reed personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace for Pendleton County and made Oath as the Law Directs He did see the within named John Hawks Sign Seal and as his Act and Deed Deliver the Within Deed of Conveyance for use within mentioned and did also see Colin Campbell Subscribe his name as Witness thereto in presents of Each other Sworn to this 3rd Day of February 1798 Nathaniel Reed.

    23 Apr 1804. Peter Weaver of Walton Georgia to Nathaniel Reed. 200A. Land of a tract surveyed by Wm. Reed and a tract surveyed by Peter Weaver himself in partnership with John Hawk and conveyed to Weaver by Hawk. The property adjacent to a tract of James Brown. Wit. Daniel Blyth, Jno. Sturndon, 17 Jun 1804.:

    Peter Weaver to Nathl Reed. - Release for 200 hundred acres Land.

    South Carolina State Pendleton District} Know all men by these presents that I Peter Weaver of Georgia State suposed(?) and Walton for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten dollar to me paid by Nathl Reed of Pendleton district State of south Carolina have granted bargained sold and released unto the said Nathl Reed a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in said District of Pendleton on a branch of Oolenoy Creek containing two hundred acres more or less it being part of a tract of land surveyed for Wm. Reed and a tract said Peter Weaver survey [sic] himself in partnership with John Hawk and conveyed from said Hawk to sd. Weaver including such marks corners and conditional lines as follows: beginning at black Jack 3x running thence N85E 25 chs. to stake thence N30E 9ch. to chestnut thence N34 to a conditional post oak corner thence along a conditional line to another conditional post oak corner thence by a conditional line to a pine corner thence by a conditional line to a pine corner thence S79 west along James Brown's line till it strikes the conditional line made by Peter Weaver and Wm. Reed as follows beginning at a conditional chestnut corner running a dur North course till strikes James Brown's line and from sd. chestnut corner running S60E till it strikes sd. William Reed's line thence along said line to the beginning corner, a black Jack. Together with all and singular the rights members Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Nathl Reed his Heirs and Assigns forever, And I do hereby bind myself, my heirs Executors and Admininstrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the premises doing all right of Dower, or any other encumbrances whatever unto the said Nathl Reed his heirs and assigns against myself my heirs and assigns and against every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim this same or any part or parcel thereof witness my hand & seal this 30 day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four: Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of each of us Daniel Blyth, Jno.     State of South Carolina Pendleton District.} This day personally came before me the subscribing Just Daniel Blyth and made oath in due form of law and with that he see Peter Weaver sign seal and deliver this his act and Deed of conveyance to Nath'l Reed and that John Strudon was a subscribing witness with himself to the same. Sworn before me the 16: of June 1804 Colin Campbell JP Daniel Blyth.



    Followed by Quit Claim of J. B. Reid of rights to the estate of his father, Nathaniel Reid, deceased, in favor of of Stephan C. Reid. 20 Oct 1842. [No witness] Rec. 5 Apr 1848 by W. A. Keith. Pickens Co., SC Deed Bk F-1, p85. (LDS film 22840).: Anderson Co., South Carolina January 13, 1807. JOHN ADAMS SR. sold a tract of land containing 25 acres situated on Adams Creek on the waters of the Oolenoy, bounded by JOHN SISK to WILLIAM MILLER for $100, part of a tract originally granted to JOHN ADAMS SR. Signed: JOHN ADAMS LS, NATH. REID, JACOB EDENS.
    On March 10, 1810, NATHANIEL REID appeared before COLIN CAMPBELL, JP and swore under oath that he saw JOHN ADAMS SR. and JACOB EDENS sign deed. Recorded March 27, 1820. Anderson Co., South Carolina, Deed Book P, page 414.

    Anderson Co., South Carolina January 30, 1807. JOHN ADAMS SR. sold 200 acres on Adams Creek waters of the Oolenoy Creek to NATHANIEL REID for $600, part of tract granted to JOHN ADAMS SR. adjoining WILLIAM MILLER. Signed: JOHN ADAMS, LS. Witnesses: WM. MILLER, JACOB EDENS. Recorded October 1821 in Anderson Co., South Carolina, Deed Book P, page 325. This is the last deed found where JOHN ADAMS SR. is a participant.
