LaVetta A. Forsythe (nee Luhring)
Age 95, of Manhattan, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
She is survived by one daughter Kathleen Forsythe of Manhattan. Four grandsons, Jeffrey Leo Heusing of Cumming, GA, David Christian Heusing of Appleton, Wisconsin, Brian Robert Heusing of Manhattan and David James Forsythe of Newark, CA. One sister Luella (Clarence deceased) Waldvogel of Frankfort. Two sisters-in-law, Madeline (Raymond deceased) Forsythe and Magdalene (Donald deceased) Forsythe. Three brothers-in-law; Robert (Mary Elizabeth deceased) Forsythe, Franklin (Mary Ellen deceased) Coldwater and Franklin (Emily) Forsythe. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her parents Christian and Emma Minger Luhring. Husband of 48 years David H. Forsythe. One son James Forsythe and two sisters Leona Tewes and Lucille Cannizzio. One nephew David Michael Forsythe.
LaVetta and David were married in 1932. They farmed in the Florence Twp. area until 1941, then moved to the Manteno area and farmed until 1980. She moved to Manhattan in 1981. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral Service for LaVetta Forsythe will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003 from the Forsythe Funeral Home, 507 S. State Street, Manhattan to St. Joseph Church, 235 W. North Street, Manhattan. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
