Marilyn T. Relyea (nee Plitt)
Age 73 of Joliet, Illinois, left this world to meet the Lord in heaven, on January 19, 2001, at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with all her family by her side.
She was a lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois. She worked at Pershing School as the best Lunchroom Grandma and will be missed by all the staff and children.
She was the love of my life, wife and best friend. She was the greatest mother that ten children could ever love and know. The world's best grandmother of 27 grandchildren. And special sister to her sisters and brother.
Beloved wife of 50 years George T. Relyea. The Greatest Mother of ten children, Thomas (Yolanda) Relyea, Theresa (Peter) Froeliger, Nancy (Bob) Flake, Richard Relyea, James (Tammy) Relyea, Maureen (George) Marconi, Diane (David) Matichak, George J. (Laura) Relyea, Beverly (Paul) Gabriel, and Patricia (Thomas) Flanagan.
The most wonderful grandmother of 27, Stephen (Sandi), Tony (Tracy) and Christopher Taranto, Michael Relyea, Bobby, Patrick, Christopher and Jeanette Flake, Jennifer, Lauren, and Connor Relyea, Corrine, Cayla, Joey, Matthew, and Nicky Marconi, Derrek, Matthew, Garrett and Hannah Matichak, Josh and Katie Brazeal, Jordan and Kelsey Relyea, Aubrey and Marilyn Gabriel and Andrew Flanagan; sister of Catherine Jean (Bill) Blackburn, Mary (Bill) Bambic, and Janice (Martin) Mackay; brother of William (the late Doris) Plitt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mom's best buddy Bear Bear.
Preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Jeannette (nee Milligan) Plitt.
Marilyn, Mom, and Grandma thank you for a wonderful, loving and fun life, we will greatly miss you. We love you.
Funeral services will be held on Monday from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., at 9:30 a.m. to St. Patrick's Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m at:
