Theresa Lorraine Delaney
Age 86, joined in full communion with God on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Our Lady of Angels, Joliet.
Survived by two sons, Richard Delaney of Elwood and Dennis (Carla) Delaney of Manhattan; four daughters, Susanne (Jack) Lee of Elwood, Phyllis Delaney of Woodland Park, CO, Karen Delaney of Omaha, NE and Mary Ann (Charlie) Pisaruk of Broken Arrow, OK; 20 grandchildren, Tammy (Steve) McCarville of Casa Grande, AZ, Michael Delaney of Coal City, Pat (Stacy) Delaney of Joliet, Terri (Ralph) Papesh of Elwood, Nicole (Nick) Skiniotes of Manhattan, Danielle (Matt) Walsh and Jeb Lee of Elwood, Daniel (Kim) DeMey of Littleton, CO, Michelle (Derek Pharr) DeMey and Ben DeMey of Seattle, WA, Rebecca (Gabriel) Davis of Colorado Springs, CO, Meghan Delaney of Omaha, NE, Jennifer (Travis) Tackett of Nashville, TN, Heather (Scott) Rajzer of Manhattan, Ryan (Shelly) Delaney of Columbus, MS, Sean (Danielle) Delaney of Rockdale, Bridget (Damien) Zeller of Campus, IL, Charles, Kaitlyn and Erik Pisaruk of Broken Arrow, OK; 28 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Winifred McGowan Carlos; husband, Ralph; a daughter, Colleen Frances; three brothers, Donald, Paul and Manning Carlos; and two sisters, Rita Irvin and Winifred Calvert.
Born in Manteno on March 5, 1919, Lorraine lived most of her life in and around the Manhattan area. In 1973, she moved with her daughter Mary Ann to Woodland Park, CO, and later to Colorado Springs. After retiring in 1981, she moved part-time to Sedona, AZ, to spend time with her ailing sister, Rita. In 1988, she returned to living full-time in Colorado until 1992, when she moved back to Illinois and into Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet. She will be remembered always as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a cheerful and deeply faithful soul with a bright smile, quick wit and caring nature who brought joy to everyone who had the good fortune to cross her path.
The funeral will be 9:30 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from the Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan to St. Joseph Church, 235 W. North St., Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials to The Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
