Note: Death of Mrs. Will Bedford Mrs. Will Bedford, a life long resident of Seward, died Monday morning January 11. Although she had been ailing for some time, the end came suddenly and peacefully. Josephine Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Williamson, was born January 19, 1871 at the Williamson homestead in Seward, where she remained until her marriage, February 19, 1890 to William Bedford, thus uniting two of Seward's oldest pioneer families. Mr. and Mrs. Bedford went to housekeeping on the Bedford homestead, where Mrs. Bedford spent the remainder of her life. She was an active worker in the Seward First Congregational church. Beside her husband, she leaves to mourn her two daughters, Edna Cryder of Na-au-say and Elma at home. She has also, five grandchildren, a brother, Will Williamson of Seward and a sister, Mrs. Eliza Conklin of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Seward First Congregational church, Rev. F. W. Fitch officiating. Interment in the AuSable Grove Cemetery. Six nephews, Harry Smith, Arthur Knudson, John O'Brien, Edwin Williamson, Frank and Elmer Tabler were pall bears and Hazel and Cecelia Bedford, Mildred and Dorothy Burgess, Evelyn and Ida Mae O'Brien acted as flower girls. Misses Audry Bell and Florine Murley sang. Among those from a distance were Mary Powell of Gary, Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bedford, Miss Ida M. Bedford, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Bedford, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tabler, Mr. N. J. Comerford, Henry P. Dwyer, all of Joliet, Illinois; John Bell of Oswego, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sanders, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Heap, George Bedford of Morris, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Clint Brown, Plainfield, Illinois. - Kendall County Record (ILLINOIS), January 20, 1926, Front Page
