    The parents of Robert Mogridge are not known. The parents of Robert's two
    wives are also unidentified. The Bradninch Parish Register from which the
    information about the Mogridge family came spelled their names "Hellen
    Dunsford" and "Dorothie Loveringe." The Bradninch Parish Register began in
    1559.

    Robert Mogridge was deceased when his daughter Joane married.

    The Burial Records for the Parish disclose that Robert had children who
    apparently were not baptized. Probably they were still-born. His first wife
    Helen died shortly after giving birth to their child.

    The burial entry for Dorothy Moggridge is one of the few that spells the name
    with two "g's". It is usually spelled "Mogridge" in the Parish Register. No
    spellings as "Maugridge" occur. Occasionally, it was spelled "Mogryd" in the
    old days.
