  • Note: Alexander served in Revolutionary War, enlisting as a private in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. He was wounded in the head during the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780. He also saw action in the Sanquinary Battle of Guilford Courthouse (North Carolina), which crippled the British so badly that they surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia. 2 4 6

    After the Revolutionary War, Alexander received a grant in Georgia for
    his services. He settled on the South River and built the first grist mill in
    North Georgia.

In 1998 when she moved to Pueblo, CO., to be near her son, she gave all of her research materials on the Carrington and Carithers lines to Robert S. Shepherd, Monticello, FL, some other materials to other cousins, and the bulk of her materials to the publishers of Heritage Papers in Athens, GA.]
