    My Great Grandfather, Alfred B. Gibson and Emily Ann Gibson were brother and sister. Newel and Emily were both born in Bangor, New York. They had three children, Charles Lee, Roland Gibson Lee, and Flora Lee Watts. According to the 1880 Census of Bangor, NY, Newel and Emily's son Charles,was age 5, attending school, born in Mass, and his parents born in NY. The 1900 Census for Santa Clara, NY has Newel, Emily, Roland, and Flora. Roland and Flora were born in NY. In Sept. 1900, Charles was living in Malone, NY near the fairgrounds according to The Malone Farmer, Sept. 19, 1900.
    Newel and Emily are in the North Bangor Cemetery. Their stone is in front of Alfred and Flora Gibson's stone.
    Newel was in the 60th Regt, NY Infantry, Company E and transferred into the 137th NYVols. He appeared on report for Nov. 24, 1863 because he took a Rebel Flag.
