Son of Robert Love, I (501).
NOTE: There is confusion as to the lineage of this Robert Love (401). THE GENEALOGY OF THE LOVES OF THE CREW, BY ROBERT LOVE (627), 16 OCT 1896, states that Robert Love (401) is the son of Robert Love (501) and the father of Robert Love (624); who is the father of Robert Love (627), the author of that document. On the other hand, a LOVE GENEALOGY COMPILED 20 AUG 1950 BY JOSEPH E. HART, JR., 3 KING'S MOUNTAIN STREET, YORK, SOUTH CAROLINA, indicates that Robert Love (401) is the son of John Love (403) and his wife, Elizabeth (404). The latter lineage is supported by HARRIS - A GENEALOGICAL FAMILY HISTORY, 1980, BY J. RALPH DICKEY (3879) AND ELIZABETH DICKEY (TROWER) (3880), PAGES 94, 95; AND CHART NO. 5A, THE HARRIS-LOVE CONNECTION, GENERATIONS IV AND V, which indicate that Robert Love (401) is the son of John Love (403) and his wife, Elizabeth (404). However, when John Love (403) executed his will on 10 Dec 1798, he divided all his lands equally between his three sons; William (908), John Royal (6746), and Samuel (910). There is no mention of Robert Love (401), which lends strength to the belief that he was not a member of the John Love (403) family, but likely belonged to the family of Robert Love (501) and was possibly a brother or cousin of John Love (403). Additionally, Robert Love (401) and John Love (403) were of the same age cohort.
