Wilfrid graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul, MN, and from the St.
Paul College of Law. He began his legal career as secretary to Justice Pierce Butler
of the U.S. Supreme Court, and served as a long-time member of the St. Paul law
firm of Doherty, Rumble, and Butler. He also served on the Board of Directors and
as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Northwestern National Bank of St. Paul;
on the Boards of Rescom Corp., the Hilex Co., Edward E. Johnson Inc., Lewis Bolt &
Nut Co., Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Co., and Miller Hospital. He also had long
service with the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul Foundation, and the
Greater St. Paul United Fund and Council.
