    1. Newton removed to Montgomery County, Arkansas shortly after the W ar of the Rebellion (Civil War) locating near his brother James. A deed f rom his father stated he was crippled for life. He was reported in Big Fo rk Township, Montgomery County, Arkansas in the 1870 Arkansas Federal Cens us, page 109. He may have later lived in Ouachita County, Arkansas (190 9) according to this land record. If so, he either returned to Montgome ry County before he died or when buried because Ouachita County is not t oo close to Montgomery County where he is buried:
