Note: John probably had three wives, the first two are unknown. He came to Hawkins Co., TN from Grayson County, VA between 1800 and Dec 26 1809. He was on Grayson tax list in 1796. He was reputed to have been in the Rev War - Records show a Capt. John Walker during the Rev War in the First North Carolina Continental Battalion. They also show a John walker was appointed on Sept 1 1775, promoted to Major on Apr 26, 1778 and resigned Dec 22 1777 - perhaps he served in the NC regiments which included Tennessee at that time. Efforts to document this have been unsuccessful at present. John fathered many children over a period of 40 years. ================================================================== WILL OF JOHN WALKER Page 484 Dated: «b»Aug. 19, 1818«/b» In the Name of God, Amen.
