Page: This Thomas, father of Katherine, is not mentioned as ason of Thomas 1st Lord le Latimer of Braybrook by Burke's Peerage. On the other hand, they only give the one son (Warin) that finally inherited the title and became 2nd Lord Latimer of Braybrook. This Thomas, even though eldest, died before his father, and therefore did not inherit. Some people have Katherine being daughter of the elder Thomas (that I have as her grandfather), in which case the death date of "bef 13 Aug 1334" could be the same as "2 Feb 1331/2". Ifhe were her father, he would have sired her at the age of 60; though not at all impossible, it does indicate that probably there was another generation of Thomas between Katherine and the elder Thomas.

"The providence of God, which keeps up the generations of men, and so preserves that degenerate race, though guilty and obnoxious, in being upon earth. As one generation, even of sinful men, passes away, another comes (Eccl 1:4; Num 32:14), and will do so while the earth remains. Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it." --Matthew Henry
