    Virginia Blanchard Prescott, 76, died Nov. 22, 2000.

    Born June 30, 1924, in Chowan County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Martha C. Byrum Blanchard. Mrs. Prescott was the secretary for B.D. Laderberg & Son, Inc., for many years.

    Survivors include her daughters, Martha C. January of Parker, Colo.; sons, Lionel H. Prescott Jr. of Virginia Beach, Frank M. Prescott of Suffolk; sister, Mrs. James T. Baggett of Suffolk; and granddaughter, Michelle Prescott.

    A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Malcolm Yaple. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA 23502.
