    Georgie Belle Ward, 81, of the 5100 block of Portsmouth Blvd., a retired lab technician, died March 10, 1993, in her residence.

    Mrs. Ward was a native of Chowan County, N.C. She was retired from Planters Peanut Co. in Suffolk and was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church in Driver.

    Survivors include her husband, Elmer K. Ward; and three sisters, Pattie Wood of Elizabeth City and Myrtle Baggett and Virginia Prescott, both of Suffolk.

    A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Rev. Frank Carter. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, this evening from 7 to 8 p.m.

    Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Program at Maryview Medical Center, 3636 High St., Portsmouth.
