Connie Belch Byrum, 78, died July 9, 2000 in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A native of Perquimans County, she was the former owner/operator of a day care center. She was a member of Ballards Bridge Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Victoria Miller Belch and the late William Belch and was the widow of Forrest Roy Byrum.
Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Brock of Kitty Hawk, Vickie Byrum of Chesapeake, Harriet Priest of Tyner and Joyce Caulk of Gatesville; a son, Wilbur Sylvester of Roanoke, Va.; a stepson, Forrest Roy Byrum Jr.; two sisters, Alma Bundy of Creswell and Frances Briggs of Edenton; a brother, William Belch of Poquoson, Va.; and four grandchildren, Lynne Creeck, Matthew Priest, Tommy Priest and Daniel Harrell. She was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Belch and John Belch.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Ballards Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. John Wilkinson and the Rev. Danny Gurganus. Burial will be in Ballards Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Home, Edenton.
