    CARLINVILLE - Louise Bolton Steward, 71, of Carlinville died Friday, July 5, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

    She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Island, Ky., the daughter of Alfred and Daisy Staples Bolton. She married Andrew Jackson Steward Jr. in 1947 in Alton; he died in 1999. A daughter, Juanita N. Steward, also preceded her in death.

    Mrs. Steward was a homemaker.

    Survivors: six sons, Andrew J. Steward III, Robert W. (wife, Kimberly) and Phillip M. Steward, all of Raymond, James A. Steward of Carlinville, Ronald D. (wife, Betty Stone) Steward Sr. of Dorchester, and Patrick L. (wife, Deana E.) Steward of O'Fallon, Mo.; two daughters, Norma L. (husband, Charles) Carlson of Litchfield and Mildred L. (husband, John) Hopper of Gillespie; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

    Services: 3 p.m. Monday, Meinschein Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial: Gillespie City Cemetery.
