    CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Gerald S. Birum, 88, of Union City, Ind., whose son Charles Birum lives in Centerville, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003.
    Born May 26, 1915, in Randolph County to Joseph and Harriet Birum, he was a postal transportation clerk.
    Additional survivors: wife, Geraldine daughters, Carol Brooks, Barbara Hall, Kathryn Cotton other sons, Robert and James brother, Leon sister, Patricia stepsons, Russell and Robert Hunt.
    His first wife, Mary Jane, is deceased.
    Service: 10 a.m. (Indiana time) Wednesday at Reichard Funeral Home, Union City, Ind. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. (Indiana time) Tuesday.
    Memorials may be made to the Union City (Ind.) Fire and Rescue Squad.
