Welcome to our family tree. This is a work in progress and is always being updated. It is not an effort all my own, but a compilation of many. Your help and support is encouraged.     William Layden Bagley, 77, a retired pipe coverer and insulator, died Dec. 5, 1990, in a Norfolk hospital.

    Mr. Bagley, a native of Perquimans County, had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member and former deacon and trustee of Bayview Baptist Church, Norfolk. He was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Byrum Bagley.

    Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Baker of Belvidere, Phyllis Thompson of Virginia Beach and Jeanne Harris of Manassas, Va.; a sister, Virgie Trueblood of Winfall; and six grandchildren.

    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Swindell Funeral Home, Hertford, by the Rev. Meredith Garrett. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford. Friends may join the family at the home of Nancy Baker, Turnpike Road.

    Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
