    Elsie Odella Byrum, 94, of the 2100 block of Wilroy Road, died Oct. 11, 1992, in a nursing home.
    Mrs. Byrum was born in Nansemond County. She was the oldest living member of Magnolia United Methodist Church. She was an honorary life member of the United Methodist Women. She was the widow of George W. Byrum.
    Survivors include a daughter, Odelle B. Oliver of Suffolk; four sons, William E. Byrum, George W. Byrum and John A. Byrum, all of Suffolk, and Joseph E. Byrum of Roanoke; three sisters, Mary E. Byrum of Suffolk, Lillian O. Grubbs of Newport News and Johnnie M. Martin of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Magnolia United Methodist Church by the Rev. Linwood G. Cook. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family at the residence. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
    Memorial donations may be made to the church's Memorial Fund, 1764 Wilroy Road, Suffolk 23434
