Hilda Boyce Parker, 85, of the 400 block of Kellogg Fork Road, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

Mrs. Parker was born in Perquimans County. The daughter of the late James Norfleet and Beulah Hollowell Boyce, she was a retired teacher, having taught in the Knotts Island, N.C., Chowan County, N.C., and Gates County, N.C., school systems. She was a member of Damascus Christian Church, the Gatesville Senior Citizens Club and the Eureka Church Young at Heart Seniors Group.

Preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Earl Parker Sr., she is survived by a daughter, Jymme Boyce Parker, and a son, Earl Parker, both of Sunbury; a sister, Myra Tucker Charlton of Goldsboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in the Parker Family Cemetery at the homeplace by the Rev. Riddick Pearce and the Rev. Roland Whitaker. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Damascus Christian Church, Sunbury, NC 27979 or to the Gates County Rescue Squad, Gatesville, NC 27938.
