I believe I heard someone say Ardis's family lived up in the mountains near Wapanucka and came in for supplies in Pappa's store one day. Walter was working in the store. I can't swear to the story but Pappa did have a store in Wapanucka at one time and turned the store over to Ardis and Walter when they married. I also heard that Ardis would give her family lots of free groceries until one day the store went broke. Family gossip.....
