Our GEDCOM focuses mainly on direct ancestors of my wife and me. I also have lines who were believed to be ancestral but later found to be unlikely.

  • Note:
    Age 16-25 (b. 1785-1794) James Bull had a household in 1810 Knox Co., KY. He appears to have an age 16-25 wife (see notes for her). The marriage of James Bull in ABT 1810 is not among the Bull marriages on Ancestry.com for Kentucky Marriages to 1850 or Tennessee Marriages to 1825, kindly searched for me by Jessie Lee Hutt. Furthermore, there are no Bull marriages in the Early Knox County Marriage 1800-1814 transcription on the county USGenWeb site, but it is said to be incomplete. I also failed to find his marriage in the 1780-1900 KY marriages in "Hunting for Bears" nor on two World Family Tree CDs with KY marriages. Mary Lou Hudson reported the Knox Co. tax lists have James Bull with land in 1810, 1815 and 1816, but not 1817 or later. He was not there in the 1820 census.

    James is my MAIN candidate for being my James Turnbull b. 1788 found in the 1817 enumeration of St. Charles Co., MO Territory, in my database. See my notes for James Turnbull and the Y-DNA evidence which indicates that he is LIKELY a son of John Bull Sr. and therefore the same man as the subject James Bull.
