Edward was born in Inkberrow, Worcestershire, England in 1566. He was baptized there on September 9, 1566, the son of William Browne and Magdeline Elsick. His first wife's name is unknown. Their son Nicholas came to New England. After the death of his first wife, he married, location unknown, after 1605, Jane Leids (Lide) (Lyde), daughter of Thomas Leids (Lide) (Lyde). She must have been his second wife, because sources say that she was the older sister of his son's wife. Edward was buried in Inkberrow on January 24, 1649. The dates of Janes birth and death have not been found, nor has the date of their marriage, which was undoubtedly in Inkberrow.
