    Charles A. Clark is recorded in the 1850 census (Roll 926, p312) in Braintree, Orange County, Vermont, as a 33 year old farmer with real estate valued at $1600. The census says he was born in Massachusetts. Also listed in the household are: Chloe, age 35, born in Vermont; Charles L., age 11; David F., age 10; Rosetta (Rosaltha?) age 9; Orlando B., age 8; and Edward B, age 3. All the children were recorded as born in Vermont, and all except Edward attended school within the past year.
