  • Note: Since I know Thomas M. Mathis lost his first wife to illness, the 2 younger kids may be Malisse's or the 2 oldest ones might have been from the first wife. My daughters geneology records are kind of buried in a storage building at the moment. If you don't know, this line of the Mathis family can be traced through a direct line of descent to Capt. Charles Thomas Mathis who fought in the American Revolution in the Continental Army. He was from Halifax county, NC. Thomas M. was the captains greatgrandson. 1
