    1900 Census shows Thomas J. Watson , age 29, working at Cash Register manufacturer.

    1910 Census finds a Thomas J. Watson, age 36, living in New York City with his wife Isabella, daughter, Jessie and mother, Jane. He is working as a bookkeeper for a hardware company. They are living on W. 35th Street, Manhattan. Also found for 1910: Hotel Belleclaire on Broadway, Manhattan, Thomas J. WATSON age 36 listed as a guest. It?s possible that the census, taken on different days, found him in both places. However, this listing identifies him with the National Cash Register Co. as Sales Manager. This is definitely our man. However, the other listing has the family with names that are recognizable from all the other family data. It confuses the entries for him.
