He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mike Bandy; sons, Rusty Hurst, Rodney Hurst and special daughter-in-law and care-giver, Nickie; grandchildren, Scott, Travis, Josh and Crystal Bandy, Jeanna and Lawrence "Bubba" Hurst; his ex-wife but friend, Jean Hurst, all of Shawsville; is mother, Clytie Hurst, Copper Hill; brother and sisters, Dennit (Sam) Hurst, Mozel Walters, Irene Deweese, Elizabeth (Ann) Conner, Lilly (Sis) Howard, Judy Pate and Phyllis Agee. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 1999 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825 Electric Rd., Roanoke, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. 1
