Hello,
Just came across your entry on Rootsweb. I have some info on the Rabensteins as Edward is my great-grandfather. His mother Dorothea's maiden name was Stoefler (Stifler). She emigrated as a child from France/Germany (border changes) in about 1830. She and Johann are buried in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh. They had a total of 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls.
Edward's fate and the circumstances of his death are something of a mystery. His one surviving child was my grandmother. If you have contacts or info that would give me some leads, that would be much appreciated. If you are interested in any other Rabenstein details that I might have, I'd be happy to share them.
