WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Harold E. "Gene" Bradshaw, 78, of Warfordsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 11, 1932, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Marshall and Edna Johnson Bradshaw, and husband of Phyllis J. Akers Bradshaw, whom he married Dec. 29, 1953, in Hagerstown, Md.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 30, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was a 1951 graduate of Warfordsburg High School.
He was a retired truck driver for Jones Motor Co., Norristown, Pa., and L&C Trucking, Needmore, Pa.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, as a jet mechanic.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Perkins and husband, Gil, Ellaville, Ga.; three sons: Gary Bradshaw and wife, Tina, Jeff Bradshaw and wife, Alonna, and Lynn Bradshaw, all of Warfordsburg; one sister, Mary Sauter, Warfordsburg; two brothers: Don Bradshaw and Mark Bradshaw, both of Warfordsburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Hanks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Edward Blank will officiate. Burial with military rites by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Faith Center, Warfordsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen,VA 23058-5216.

Toby and Dena McGarvey celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with an overnight stay at Hickory Bridge in Gettysburg last week. Their anniversary was November 20.
The family of Ruth Souders helped her celebrate her 98th birthday on Sunday with a beautiful birthday cake, baked by her greatgranddaughter, Mariah Truax. Also attending were Ruth’s niece, Joyce, and husband Bill Brown of Chambersburg.
Lee and Freda Vickroy observed their 60th wedding anniversary on November 18.
Cheryl Mellott of Big Cove Tannery is at home recuperating after being thrown off her horse recently and ending up with several broken ribs.
Clarence “Bushy” Kerlin is home recuperating after having knee surgery in Chambersburg Hospital.
Forbes Road Elementary School Helpers held a community day and night at Lincoln Way Pizza last Tuesday. A portion of all sales went back to the group.
