CHAMBERSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - Herbert G. Schooley, 80, of Man orCare Health Services, 1070 Stouffer Ave., and formerly of 122 S. Fayet te St. in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, USA, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at M anorCare.
Born April 4, 1921, near Mercersburg, he was the son of t he late Harry and Blanche Fix Schooley.
He retired in 1979 from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersbu rg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post 6241 in Merce rsburg and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842 in Chambersburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie L. Knox and Cynth ia S. Burkett, both of Chambersburg; one son, Lance E. Schooley of Shippens burg, Pennsylvania, USA; two stepsons, Eric S. Schooley and Dereck J. Schooley, bo th of Chambersburg; one sister, Marden Peck of Mercersburg; 11 gra ndchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dale H. Schooley, in 19 49.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funer al Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Revs. W. David Kent and Ga ry A. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in Harrisonvill e, Pennsylvania, USA, with a graveside service by VFW Post 6241.
Viewing will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p. m. and Thursday at 10 a.m.
