HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Kenneth C. Schooley, 87, of 190 Schooley Road, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born April 12, 1919, in Harrisonville, he was the son of the late John and Mary Sipes Schooley.
His wife, Ellen Bergsted Schooley, died Jan. 14, 2005. They were married Nov. 10, 1942.
He worked at Rotz Lumber Yard in Chambersburg, Pa., for 32 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by nine children; two sisters; 26 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children; one brother; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville. Pastor William Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Silaom United Methodist Church Cemetery, Harrisonville, with military services conducted by Fulton Honor Guard.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, McConnellsburg, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

Kenneth C. Schooley, 87, Harrisonville, died Saturday, February 24, 2007, at Fulton County Medical Center.
Born in Harrisonville April 12, 1919, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Sipes) Schooley.
He worked at Rotz Lumber Yard in Chambersburg for 32 years.
He was the widower of Ellen (Bergsted) Schooley, whom he married November 10, 1942. She preceded him in death January 14, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class in World War II.
He is survived by nine children; two sisters; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, a brother, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27. Pastor William Bair officiated. Burial was made in Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Military services were conducted by Fulton Honor Guard.

’50 A party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Poffenberger of Williamsport, Md., last Sunday in honor of the 80th birthday of the latter’s mother, Mrs. Ella Mellott, widow of the late Richard Mellott.
Birth: a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schooley of Harrisonville on October 30.
Nearly 80 players, their wives, girlfriends and guests were present at the fifth annual awards banquet of the Blue Ridge Baseball league at the local Legion home last Thursday night. Don Ott, McConnellsburg, pitcher, received an award as the leading pitcher, and the team trophy for having won the league championship was presented to Lawrence Shimer, president of the McConnellsburg Baseball Club.
Dorothy M. Stahle of Cito and William F. Swope of Needmore have been accepted as members of Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, national honor fraternity of Shippensburg State Teachers College.
Announcement has been made of the engagement of N. Betty Garland of Harrisburg to Cpl. Glenn Ratcliffe of Ashland, Ky.
