Military service for Jerry Lee Johnson, 63, will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51, 300 W. Mission Av e. Neptune Society is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, who was born in Stillwell, Okla., died Thursday<>. He was a resident of Spokane 20 years.
He graduated from Grandview (Wash.) High School in 1960, and joined the Marines soon after. He served as a military policeman during the Vietnam War from 1960 to about 1970 and was awarded the Rifle Marksman Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
He married his first wife, Sheila<>, in 1964, and the couple later divorced.
In 1995 he married his second wife, Nancy Burns.
Mr. Johnson was employed by K&N Electric Co. for many years, retiring in 2002. In his spare time he and his wife, Nancy, started J&N Lawn Care. Other interests included gardening, tending to his roses, and John Wayne movies. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Johnson of Sunnyside, Wash., and Jerry Johnson Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Ashlie Burns-Johnson of Spokane; three sisters, Lois Hackworth of Four Lakes, Vicki Smith of Kennewick and Terry Hamill of Grandview, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Northwest.
